ISCC Certification

SustainAvia provides International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) consulting and audit services (via an accredited Certification Body) to companies interested in obtaining ISCC certification.

Per ISCC 'Guidance: Many companies are not familiar with the implications of the Sustainability Ordinances (requirements traceability, mass balance, GHG calculation, document design etc). Non-compliance may require a second audit if a certificate is rejected in the first place. The upfront study of ISCC checklists, procedures and databases (No-Go-Area) or expert involvement is strongly recommended'.

ISCC aims at establishing an international, practicable and transparent system to certify biomass and bioenergy.

The objectives of ISCC are the establishment of an internationally oriented, practical and transparent system for the certification of biomass and bioenergy. ISCC is oriented towards: reduction of Greenhouse Gas emissions, sustainable use of land, protection of natural biospheres and social sustainability.

The ISCC certification system is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection via the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR).

ISCC certification has been recognized by the European Commission as meeting the EU Renewable Energy Directive sustainability criteria.
